To celebrate Larned’s Santa Fe Trail Days, the Santa Fe Trail Center is proud to present “Music From the Pawnee,” a temporary exhibit on the importance of music to the lives of those living in the Pawnee County area.

If you saw the Trail Center’s music exhibit this winter—you haven’t seen anything yet! This revised and expanded exhibit features musical instruments as well as artifacts related to sound recording and reproduction. Items from the collection are on display, as well as memorabilia from area residents.

Awe over an 1890s acoustic guitar, “Comrade” Smith’s violin, and one of Larned’s first television sets with built-in radio and phonograph. Marvel at memorabilia from local artists such as The Fabulous Flippers and Susan Lane Stokes. Relive your childhood memories with a selection of children’s musical toys. There will be something for every music lover!

Admission to the museum galleries and outdoor exhibits is ½ price on Saturday, April 30 in recognition of Santa Fe Trail Days. Bring your entire family!

The Santa Fe Trail Center is located 2 miles west of Larned on K-156 Hwy. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays, 9 am to 5 pm. It is closed on Mondays from Labor Day to Memorial Day. For more information call the Trail Center at 620-285-2054.
